Will the Scout rack fit my 80 Series if it has a sunroof?
Yes, the Scout rack is built to fit every LC80 model, including those with a sunroof, so there's no special version to hunt down.
How much taller will my 80 Series be with the rack on?
Your 80 Series will only be 50mm taller. The Scout is a slim line rack that sits low on the roof, which keeps wind noise down and the extra height small. Still worth a quick measure if your garage door is tight.
How much gear can I carry on my 80 Series roof rack?
The rack is rated to 150kg dynamic and 350kg static. Off road, the rating is 100kg. The rack itself weighs 28kg, so that leaves you 72kg of gear off road and 122kg on the bitumen.
How big is the loading area?
You get a usable platform of 1875mm by 1300mm. Seven T slot aluminium rails run across it, and they take standard M8 nuts and bolts. That means your tie downs, awning brackets and other gear can lock down wherever you need them.
What comes in the box, and can I fit it myself?
Everything you need to get it on the roof: 7 aluminium cross rails, 6 roof mounts, left and right side rails, a wind deflector with a removable cover, and a big bag of nuts and bolts. We rate the fit at 3 out of 10 for difficulty, and it takes about one to two hours. Have a look at the fitting instructions (PDF) before you start.
Can I run a light bar on it?
Yes, pop the removable cover off the wind deflector and it takes a single or double row LED light bar up to 42 inches. You can add an Offroad Animal 42 inch light bar when you order.
